A beautiful spring day for flowers to bloom
As bees feed upon their nectar, hopefully not too soon
The fragrance is such that it fills the air
The floral bouquet lingers there
The wispy-smell can delight the room
Overpowering it with a multitude of fumes
Lilac, lavender, daisies, and rose pedals too
What a conglomerate of sweet things that I’ve given you
How romantic, what a glow
To hold you in my arms and tell you so
At a glance I can see
That someday you surely be my potpourri
SUPER DUPER Actions speak louder than words. Have you heard? The inside word? Is it an adjective or is it a verb? Is it fast? Is it quick? Will it make you mad or render you sick? Make you a looper or physically fit? Which is it? The title of this poem is not a blooper. Whatever comes out of it is SUPER DUPER!
CALL HIM A JERK Would step over anyone to get where you are Ruthless, arrogant, selfish by far Cheater, feeder, one of a kind If it doesn’t belong to him, he’ll take it He doesn’t mind Liar, manipulator, thief who hurts Troy Warner is his name Notoriously know as a flirt Women who have met him, call him a jerk
BY DESIGN Santa Claus, Jesus, Whatever the face An image molded for the dominance of race To be superior in the eyes of others Over the color of one’s skin To control, own, slaughter, or kill Inhuman, injustice To have us beneath you feet We must stand strong When you render us weak Prejudices, bound, hung Every evil you can find Is all perfectly woven by design
DRUGGED BEAUTY Where am I? What did you do? Who told you that I wanted to sleep with you? Where are my clothes? Did we have sex? I would have never consented We broke up You were my ex My prince charming, you are not The last thing I remember Me, along with my girlfriends, were drinking a lot Did you put something in my drink that I should know? If you did, you better tell me so I’m calling the police That’s just it You raped me, and I’m not taking no more of your shit
Eight years of hope, with a dream fulfilled
The angels, our forefathers, have smiled upon us and given us a thrill
A man of color in the White House, what a joy to see
Now our black children are saying, it possibly can be me
So why is all the hatred spewed about?
We need to come together as a nation and stop all this strife
Or we’ll deprive each other of the human life
For I am an American and proud to be
American I am, it looks great to me!
Peace and love were his words to us all
Michael Jackson, a genius who will forever stand tall
Michael Jefferson misses you
But the music legacy you left us
Still shines through
Prejudice. Racist, against who I am. Color of your skin Determines how you fit in? In a society where no is a pure-bread. Those who think they are, believe they’re entitled instead. Our country is a great one, there is no doubt. So why is all the hatred spewed about? We need to come together as a nation and stop all this strife Or we’ll deprive each other of the human life For I am an American and proud to be American I am, it looks great to me!
